Konstanty Puzyna

(1929–1989) was a Polish theater scholar, editor, essayist, journalist, and poet. He was born in Warsaw to an old Polish noble family, bearing the Oginiec Crest. He studied Polish Literature at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. He was a student of Kazimierz Wyka, creator of the “Krakow school” of literary criticism. He mainly wrote essays on the theater. The edition of Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz’s dramas prepared by Puzyna greatly contributed to popularizing the former’s work. He also edited the works of Wilam Horzyca and Antonin Artaud.
